Resolve Software Group (RSG) today announced the appointment of Melanie Silvester as the company's new Chief Executive Officer, effective 11th March 2024.
Melanie succeeds Steve Hoy who departs after a successful 7-year tenure at the helm of RSG. During his time as CEO RSG saw substantial growth of the business, released a new web client for the Resolve Enterprise platform and made a significant expansion into the Canadian Market. In addition, Steve has, via Jonas Software (RSG’s parent company), successfully acquired and integrated 3 other businesses into the parent company’s portfolio. RSG was bought by Jonas Software in 2016 – one of 6 Operating Groups that form Constellation Software, a publicly listed company on the Toronto Stock Exchange, with revenues over $6bn USD, staff in excess of 45,000, and a market capitalisation of over $50bn USD.
Steve will stay with Jonas Software moving to a full time Group Leader role where he will work with the CEO’s of RSG, Dynamiq, Chameleon Software and SupportAbility to ensure their continued success, as well as focusing on bringing more businesses into the growing portfolio.
Speaking about his time with RSG, Steve said, “Over 2 separate stints I have had the pleasure of working for RSG for 12 years, firstly as COO and then as CEO. RSG not only has an incredible product but more importantly an amazing team that have continued to impress me every single day. Together we have achieved an incredible amount over the last 7 years, and I am immensely proud of that.”
Melanie brings a wealth of experience to the role, with 25+ years in the software industry and having served as RSG’s GM of Professional Services and more recently as COO. With this history under her belt, she understands RSG’s products, processes, and market, which will enable her to take the company forward through its next phase of growth.
“As I step into the role of CEO at RSG, I am honoured to lead our incredible and passionate team. We are positioned well to further build upon the solid foundations and successes we have achieved over the years. As the journey continues, I am excited to guide RSG towards positive outcomes, innovation, and growth.” says Melanie.
Speaking about Melanie as the new CEO Steve says, “This is a great outcome for RSG, and I believe that the very best candidate has been chosen for this critical role. I’ve worked closely with Melanie over the last 2 years, and she has shown that she is a great people leader, has a strong commercial focus and is incredibly humble. I look forward to watching Melanie take RSG to the next level.”
